Knowing how to move and handling people safely (often called moving and positioning) is essential for both the healthcare worker and those in their care. Proper training can help guard against musculo-skeletal injuries so often sustained by care workers and nurses. Careful moving and handling also benefits the client by reducing the risk of discomfort or additional injury.
